Explore Renewables, Energy Efficiency and Energy Storage 

Supported by the Sunshine Coast Solar Farm and Sunshine Coast Council, renewable energy guru Trevor Birrell will discuss renewable methods in home design.

Trevor will discuss leading independent renewables from concerns regarding rooftop solar, battery storage, going off the grid, reducing energy use in the home, choosing the right renewable system, getting the most out of existing solar systems and the best energy providers. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about your home or business.

About Trevor Berrill

Trevor Berrill is an award winning, private consultant in sustainable energy (SE) system design, education and training, and policy. He has worked in both renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) for 40 years, including system design and installation, research and development, technical training, public education and policy.

His home is fully solar powered with a grid connected, photovoltaic (PV) system, solar water heating, passive solar design and rain water system. He drives a Mitsubishi iMeiv electric car charged from the sun.

This event is part of the Considered Design and Resourceful Living Exhbition being held at the Old Ambulance Station in Nambour from Friday 12 October to Sunday 4 November. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3pm.

About the event host, Sunshine Coast Open House

Sunshine Coast Open House is a free event, which provides visitors with the rare opportunity to tour architecturally diverse, well-designed and historic buildings across the region. The second annual Sunshine Coast Open House on Saturday 20 October will feature 30 historic and contemporary buildings stretching from Caloundra to Pomona and the Hinterland.

Sunshine Coast Open House is part of the Open House Worldwide network, and is an initiative of Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Shire Council and the Australian Institute of Architects Sunshine Coast Committee.
