About
Held at the Insitute of Architects WA Chapter office and presented by Daniel Kress of Smart Plus Homes, this event will discuss the importance of airtightness now that it is mandated under the National Construction Code (NCC). The event will reveal how airtightness is tested and how buildings in WA are actually performing.
This event will provide learning outcomes in understanding the basics of airtightness, how airtightness layer is defined, understanding the difference between airtightness, vapor control and protection against elements, how a blower door test is defined and the specific requirements for airtightness defined by the NCC.
About Daniel Kress:
Daniel started his career as a carpenter in Germany and then worked in Ireland on the biggest residential modular project in the world at that time. After 10 years in the building game, he started his studies in civil engineering and worked as a researcher for the European Union in sustainable building.
Since 2015 Daniel has been working in the Australian building industry with the bold aim of creating healthier and more comfortable homes.
