Skheme have launched their new custom-designed showroom in Rushcutters’ Bay. The move comes for the company to be in the heart of the Sydney design and architecture community.

With their main client base located within a 5km radius of the new showroom, Skheme are now more accessible than ever to architects and designers.

The showroom location was chosen not only for its position in relation to Sydney’s design community but also for its potential for customisation, future growth and experimentation, as well as providing the space for clients to explore the wide range of products on display and discuss their needs.

‘Our objective was to create a space with fewer but larger displays, allowing the client to think freely whilst selecting products’ says Skheme Director Anthony Peronace. With this in mind, the showroom was designed to be used in conjuction with their website, which is the other space in which clients most frequently engage with Skeme products.

The design brief focused on customisation and architectural finishes. Skheme Director Marco De Clerico says they were inspired by Mies Van Der Rohe, focusing on making the showroom simple, architectural, engaging and easy to navigate’. Skheme worked with GP2 Projects for the design and construction, along with Man of Steel, Ellermen Tiling and Premium Joinery.

The ‘piece de resistance’ is the custom designed workbench clad in Skheme’s stunning natural Lloret Slats which are part of the custom designed Flute Series. The space is also complemented by the Farrago table, designed in-house, and the Cupboard Door Colour Range showcasing the vast range of products in a clear and aesthetic manner. This highly customised space showcases the newest ranges including not only the Flutes and Farrago, but new porcelain and natural stone slabs as well. Skheme Director Frank Peronace says ‘Our vision for Skheme has been completely manifested in our new showroom, and we are all excited to share this with our clients.

It is a big move for the company that was founded in 2004 and grew out of the Australian family business ‘Ace Ceramics Group’, which has been operating for 44 years. In that time, Skheme Tiles has become known for their wide range of products, specialising in stone and tiles for clients in the fields of architecture and interior design. Now, in 2018, the new Rushcutters Bay showroom marks the progress the company has made in catering to Australia’s growing and engaged design community.
