New Year New Home
The Eve Series
The Local Project

Words Jessica Eva

Christmas has been and gone as quickly as it seemed to arrive and New Year celebrations are starting to feel like a fading memory (in fairness they were a bit foggy to begin with!) so our attention has now turned to preparing for the next 12 months ahead. With fresh resolutions and maximum motivation now is the perfect time to reorganise and start fresh, and what better place to start your rejuvenation than the home, your centre and sanctuary.

It only takes a few small touches to create a sense of newness in any space, so we have arranged our top selects to update and refresh your design scheme.

Puku and Puku Nui Ottoman by Coco Flip

An exciting and playful pop of colour, this bubble-like ottoman is the perfect reminder in your space not to take things too seriously. These flexible ottomans by Melbourne design studio, Coco Flip offer practical and comfortable solutions for additional seating in casual living spaces or children’s play areas whilst their vibrant colour selections of wool felt is great for inviting a block of an exciting hue to your styling.

Sia Table with Black Frame by Design Kiosk for Project 82

The centre point of your living space, a new coffee table with clean minimal lines and an emphasis on quality timber is a subtle update yet a piece that no elegant living space should be without. Simple modern detailing is the best base for your living room décor and the Sia Table’s contradiction of a black powder coated frame alongside smooth cut grainy hardwood is a statement that will sit well in a number of design schemes. The Sia’s interpretation of simple modern forms will not only add a sense of newness now but will maintain its relevance for many years beyond 2018.

Helen Planter by Den Holm

Give your indoor greenery a bit of TLC ahead of the new year and invest in a new home for it that offers more in the design stakes. For an addition that is just as much a piece of art as it is the perfect home for your indoor fern or fiddle leaf, the Helen by Den Holm is a hand carved sculpture made from Australian Limestone made entirely in their Melbourne workshop.
